The Aboriginal Muslims in Australia everyone should be proud of.

These are the faces of Aboriginal Muslims in Australia that not many know of.

The photos were captured by Stuart Miller as part of a photo essay for NITV documenting “Identity” amongst Indigenous Australians. The photos are also accompanied by short descriptions of the individuals participating and their journey to Islam.

There are approximately 1140 Aboriginal Muslims living in Australia as of the last recorded census. This number has almost doubled over the past 15 years and is only expected to continue growing.

Many Aboriginal Muslims have commented on the parallels drawn between the Islamic faith and their Aboriginal identity. This is particularly due to the extensive focus Islam places on spirituality and care for the environment.

Aboriginals have shared a long history with Islam that dates back to the 1700’s. This is predominantly a result of interaction with Afghan cameleers, Malay pearl divers and Indonesian fisherman. Many Aboriginal families worked alongside with and intermarried Muslims during this time.

7 Ways to Gain the Shade of Allah on the Day of Judgement

There will be seven groups of people under the shade of the Throne of Allah SWT on the day of judgement.

On this day that is 50,000 years long, when people will be only meters from the sun and suffering in it’s unbearable heat, there are seven groups of people who are so special to Allah SWT that He will take them out of the heat and into the shade. This will be the only shade that exists on that day.

As you look through this video, you will see that you can absolutely be on this list of special people. No matter who you are, there is one, maybe more, categories that you can work hard to fall into.

May Allah SWT save us all form the suffering of that day by placing us in His shade inshaAllah.
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are seven persons whom Allah will shade on a day when there is no shade but his. They are a just ruler, a young person who grew up in the worship of Allah, a person whose heart is attached to the mosques, two persons who love each other and who meet and depart from each other for the sake of Allah, a man whom a beautiful woman of high status seduces but he rejects her by saying I fear Allah, a person who spends in charity and conceals it such that his right hand does not know what his left hand has given, and a person who remembered Allah in private and he wept.”
Ten Promised Jannah

It’s incredible to think that any human being can be told, within their lifetime, that they are definitely going to be one of the inhabitants of Jannah (paradise). As amazing as that sounds, this is exactly the case for 10 of the righteous companions of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

In the real world, any of us hearing this news about ourselves, that we have been promised Jannah, might make us relax and take our foot off the gas pedal. Knowing that Allah SWT is so pleased with us that we have nothing to fear of punishment in the hereafter, might make us take it easy, and put up our feet.

However, the opposite was true for these 10 incredible men. Knowing that they have been promised Jannah, only served to increase them in their good deeds, their gratitude to Allah, and His worship. If anything, it increased their zeal in wanting to please their creator, Allah SWT.

As we watch this video and read the hadith below, we should think about our own commitment to the pleasure of Allah SWT, especially since we have been given no guarantees of our final and eternal resting place.
The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Abu Bakr will be in Paradise, ‘Umar will be in Paradise, ‘Uthmaan will be in Paradise, ‘Ali will be in Paradise, Talhah will be in Paradise, Al-Zubayr will be in Paradise, ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf will be in Paradise, Sa’d will be in Paradise, Sa’eed will be in Paradise, and Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarraah will be in Paradise.”
(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3680).

Sa’d is Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas, and Sa’eed is Sa’eed ibn Zayd.

There are also a number of other Sahaabah who were given the glad tidings of Paradise, such as Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Salaam, ‘Ukaashah ibn Muhsan and others, but the ten mentioned above are called the ten who were given the glad tidings of Paradise because their glad tidings came in one hadith. And Allah knows best.

This man used to hate Muslims with a passion, until he actually met one.

“I used to actually hate Muslims”.

John Dutcher, 61 of Omaha, Nebraska has admitted in an interview with KETV, that he used to hate Muslims.

His hatred even led him to the extent of him desiring to “put a pig’s head on a mosque”. This was however all to change after a group of Muslim refugees moved into his apartment building.

He never used to like his previous neighbours due to their ill behaviour, however he says his Muslim neighbours were a surprising relief.

“They took the hatred out of me. I never knew how badly someone could hate someone they don’t even know”.

This is an amazing example of how hearts can change through simply interactions.

As Allah says in the Quran, “Perhaps Allah will place friendship between you and those whom you were once enemies. Allah is all Powerful and Allah is Forgiving and Merciful” (Quran 60:7).

Sheikh Shady sends powerful message to ISIS

Sheikh Shady has sent a response to ISIS after their death threat video calls their followers to kill him and other Muslim leaders worldwide. In a statement, he says he is not surprised that ISIS has labelled him as “an apostate” and have called their followers to kill him.
I am not at all surprised by this news, which confirms in no uncertain terms, that the beliefs, teachings, and ideology of this group, ISIS, are not in harmony with the religion of Islam nor that it represents the true teachings of our beloved Prophet Mohammad Peace be Upon Him.
The group also targeted the Grand Mufti of Australia, Ibrahim Abu Mohamed and Sheikh Ahmed Abdo in their 25 minute video. Sheikh Shady says the video is proof that ISIS is acting far outside Islamic teachings.[gap height=”10″]

I see this as unequivocal proof that mainstream Islam, as preached and taught by the overwhelming majority of Muslim Imams, Sheikhs, and Mufti’s around the world, is innocent of the crimes perpetrated by ISIS, who falsely claim that they are following the teachings of almighty Allah (God), and His beloved final messenger, Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Many Australian Imams, including myself, have publicly denounced and preached against the hateful and murderous teachings of ISIS
I am heartened to hear that ISIS themselves agree – confirming that mainstream Islam, which the vast majority of the world’s Muslims adhere to, is not what they preach and the recent video is a big proof of that.
The Muslim world has been the first victims and sufferers of this deviant cult and more Muslims were killed on their hands than anyone else.

Sheikh Shady strongly advised that he will not be affected by the propaganda video and will continue his work as community leader to teach and practice “true Islamic teachings” and the principles of humanitarianism.

I am undeterred in my mission to teach and practice true Islamic teachings, which include the worship of the One God of the Prophets Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad (Peace be upon them) as well as compassion, mercy, generosity, selflessness, and kindness.
I will continue to teach the Islamic principles of humanitarianism, and what Islam and the Sharia teaches me to respect and abide by the laws of the land that we live in.
As for the threats on my life – I am unconcerned.
This is the time of unity against all forms of violence and extremism.

NFL Players boycott visit to Israel after being inspired by Muhammad Ali

These NFL Players are boycotting an official state-sponsored trip to Israel after details emerged the trip would be used as propaganda for Israel. Michael Bennett from Seattle Seahawks posted an open letter on Twitter outlining his reasons for boycotting the trip.

He explained how he has always been inspired by Muhammad Ali, a long supporter of Palestine, to be a “voice for the voiceless” and he would like to follow in his footsteps.

Bennett stated, “One of my heroes has always been Muhammad Ali. I know that Ali always stood strongly with the Palestinian people, visiting refugee camps, going to rallies, and always willing to be a “voice for the voiceless.” I want to be a “voice for the voiceless,” and I cannot do that by going on this kind of trip to Israel.unnamed[scrolling_box]

Malcolm X asks Americans to accept Islam to end racism

In a recently discovered letter written by Malcolm X he urges white Americans to consider Islam as a solution to the many race problems plaguing society. It was originally written in Makkah, Saudi Arabia on 26th April 1964.
Mecca, Saudi Arabia – April 26th, 1964

I have just completed my pilgrimage (Hajj) here to the Holy City of Mecca, the holiest City on earth, which is absolutely forbidden for non-Muslims to even rest their eyes upon. This pilgrimage is the most important event in the life of all Muslims, and there are over 226,000 who are here right now from outside of Arabia. From Turkey came the largest contagion, around 50,000 in over 600 buses. This refutes Westerner propaganda that Turkey is turning away from Islam.

I know of only 2 others who have made the actual Hajj to Mecca from America, and both of them are West Indians who also converts to Islam. Mr. Elijah Muhammad, 2 of his sons, and a couple of his followers visited Mecca outside the Hajj season, and their visit is known as the “Omra”, or Lesser Pilgrimage. It is con-

(Page 2) -sidered a blessing in the Muslim World even to make the “Omra”. I very much doubt that 10 American citizens have ever visited Mecca, and I do believe that I might be the first American born Negro to make the actual Hajj itself. I’m not saying this to boast but only to point out what a wonderful accomplishment and blessing it is, and also to enable you to be in a better position intellectually to evaluate it in its proper light, and then your own intelligence can place it in its proper place.

This pilgrimage to the Holliest of Cities as been a unique experience for me, but one which as made me the recipient of numerous unexpected blessings beyond my wildest dreams.

Shortly after my arrival in Jeddah, I was met by Prince Muhammed Faisal who informed me that his illustrious father, his Excellency Crowned Prince Faisal had decret that I be that I The ruler of Arabia be his Guest. What has happened since then would take several books to described, but through the ***** of his Excellency I have since stayed in ***** hotels in Jeddah, Mecca, Mina – with a private car, a driver, a religious guide, and many servants at my disposal.

(Page 3)
Never have I been so highly honored and never had such honor and respect made me feel more humble and unworthy. Who would believe that such blessing could be heaped upon an American Negro!!! (But) in the Muslim World, when one accepts Islam and ceases to be white or Negro, Islam recognizes all men as Men because the people here in Arabia believe that God is One, they believe that all people are also One, and that all our brothers and sisters is One Human Family.

I have never before witnessed such sincere hospitality and the practice of true brotherhood as I have seen it here in Arabia. In fact all I have seen and experienced on this pilgrimage as forced me to “re-arrange” much of thoughts pattern and to toss aside some

(Page 4)
of my previous conclusions. This “adjustment to reality” wasn’t to difficult for me to undergo, because despite my firm conviction in whatever I believe, I have always tried to keep an open mind, which is absolutely necessary to reflect the flexibility that must go hand in hand with anyone with intelligent quest for truth never comes to an end.

There are Muslims here of all colors and from every part of this earth. During the past days here in Mecca (Jeddah, Mina, and Mustaliph) while understanding the rituals of the Hajj, I have eaten. From the same plate, drank from the same glass and slept on the same bed or rug – with Kings, potentates and other forms of rulers – ******* with fellow Muslims whose skin was the whitest of white, whose eyes was the bluest of blue, and whose hair was the blondest of blond – I could look into their blue eyes and see that they regarded me as the same (Brothers), because their faith in One God (Allah) had actually removed “white” from their mind, which automatically changed their attitude and their behavior (towards) people of other colors. Their beliefs in the Oneness as made them so different from American whites that their colors played no part in my mind in my dealing with them. Their sincere

(Page 5)
To One God and their acceptance of all people as equals makes them (so called “Whites”) also accepted as equals into the brotherhood of Islam along with the non-whites.

If white Americans could accept the religion of Islam, if they could accept the Oneness of God (Allah) they too could then sincerely accept the Oneness of Men, and cease to measure others always in terms of their “difference in color”. And with racism now plaguing in America like an incurable cancer all thinking Americans should be more respective to Islam as an already proven solution to the race problem.

The American Negro could never be blamed for his racial “animosities” because his are only reaction or defense mechanism which is subconscious intelligence has forced him to react

(Page 6)
against the conscious racism practiced (initiated against Negroes in America) by American Whites. But as America’s insane obsession with racism leads her up the suicidal path, nearer to the precipice that leads to the bottomless pits below, I do believe that Whites of the younger generation, in the colleges and universities, through their own young, less hampered intellects will see the “Handwriting on the Wall” and turn for spiritual salvation to the religion of Islam, and force the older generation to turn with them—

This is the only way white America can worn off the inevitable disaster that racism always leads to, and Hitler’s Nazi Germany was best proof of this.

Now that have visited Mecca and gotten my own personal spiritual path adjusted to where I can better understand the depth of my religion (Islam), I shall be living in a couple days to continue my journey into our African Fatherland. Allah willing, by May 20th before my return to New York, I shall have visited Sudan, Kenya, Tanguanyika, Zanzibar, Nigeria, Ghana, and Algeria.
You may use this letter in anyway you desire,

El-Hajj Malik El-Shabbazz

The Muslim man looking after children no one else would

Mohamed Bzeek is a 62 year old Libyan American Muslim who looks after terminally ill children in Los Angeles.
He fosters these children despite knowing very well many of them will die during his care due to their illness.
Up to ten children have died under his care including some in his arms.
He currently looks after a 6 year old girl who is deaf, blind and also paraplegic in her arms and legs.
This is a true example of Prophetic mercy we are seeing today.
The Prophet Muhammad taught us of the great virtue of one who looks after the orphan and children that need care.
He said in an authentic narration “”I and the person who looks after an orphan and provides for him, will be in Paradise like this,” putting his index and middle fingers together.
