These Muslim Kids React to Video of Bullying

OnePath Network has invited kids to sit down and watch viral videos of Muslims from around the world being bullied. They tell us about how they feel about these horrific scenarios and also explain what they think they should do when confronted by a bully. They also share their own personal encounters with bullies in their schools and what they have done to stop them.

Bullying is common worldwide and most likely every one of us has encountered a bully at one point in our life. The Muslim youth must be able to feel comfortable when talking to a parent or teacher. This video encourages the youth to speak openly about their troubles to someone that they trust and also it encourages parents and teachers to sit down and listen to what they have to say.

May Allah keep our youth safe from any harm.

Too busy for my Dad

Before you think you’re too busy for your parents

This short reminder takes a look at how often we assume that we are ‘too busy’ for our parents and loved ones.

We should also never overlook our transgressions towards our parents thinking that Allah will leave them unpunished. In fact, the transgressions we commit against our parents today are more than likely to have repercussions in this life before the hereafter, if we do not repent.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

بابان معجلان عقوبتهما في الدنيا: البغي والعقوق

“Two doors will hasten their punishment in the worldly life, oppression and disobedience to parents”.

Many scholars have deemed that one of the punishments for disobedience to parents in this worldly life, is that Allah will make your children treat you in the same disrespectful way.

Allah states in the Quran:

“And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], “uff,” and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.”

Quran 17:23

May Allah make us of those who uphold the rights of our parents and attain the pleasure of our parents in this life and the next.

Are You Really Fasting?

Are You Really Fasting?

Ramadan is not only about abstaining from food, but involves being patient and learning to control your mouth, eyes and limbs from committing haram.

The Prophet said, “Whoever does not give up false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need of his giving up his food and drink.”

Al-Bukhari.

False speech includes all kinds of speech that are haram, lying, backbiting, slandering, insulting and cursing.

Are You Really Fasting?
Are You Really Fasting?

If you are being mocked or insulted whilst you are fasting, respond by saying I am fasting, I am fasting as the Prophet ﷺ instructed us to do. Also if you are in an argument walk away and try to refrain from such actions.

As the Messenger of Allah  said, “When one of you is fasting he should neither behave in an obscene manner nor foolishly, if a man fights or abuses him, he should say, I am fasting I am fasting.”

Sunan Abu Dawud.

Never Give Up Prayer

My brother and my sister. Pray.
No matter what’s happening in your life. Pray.
No matter what sin you’re committing and how much of it you’re committing. Pray.
No excuses
Sister tells me, “Brother I don’t wear Hijab”. I tell you pray.
She tells me “Look you know my dress code is not the best”. I tell you pray.
Brother “I drink Alcohol.” Pray.
Brother tells me “I sell drugs”. Pray.
“I take drugs”. Pray.
“I have a girlfriend and I’m sleeping with her”. I tell you pray.
No matter what’s happening in your life. Pray.
“But brother, how can I be committing all these sins and pray?”
“That’s disrespectful, that makes me a hypocrite.”
I tell you no! That’s why we pray.
Because we’re not perfect, we’re sinners. We do wrong.
Pray. Allah says “The Prayer will take you away from sin”. Pray.
You know sometimes people say, “Look, let me straighten my life out”
“and Insha’Allah I will start praying”.
Habibi you will never straighten anything out if you don’t pray.
That’s why you pray, to straighten your life out.
Nothing my brothers and sisters
Let no man get between you and Allah. Pray.
No matter what is happening in your life. Pray.
No matter where you are. Pray.
You know sometimes people come to you and tell you
“Brother, sister you’re a hypocrite.”
“Sister, you know, you don’t wear the Hijab and you pray.”
Tell her “Sister, thank you very much. I’m a hypocrite, May Allah reward you.”
But my prayer is between me and Allah.
No body else’s business.
The Prophet of Allah he says the difference between us and them, is the prayer.
The very first question on the day of resurrection
that you’re going to be asked is about the prayer.
If you pass, then everything after that is going to be easy.
But if you fail that, then everything after that is just going to get worse.
So pray. Pray my brothers you will earn Allah’s love
Pray and you will earn His mercy and His forgiveness.
Imagine your friend is Allah. Never mind wealth, the Heavens and the Earth belongs to Him.
You become an unstoppable force when Allah is on your side.
So please my brothers and sisters, no matter what’s happening in your life pray.
Don’t let anyone turn you away from Allah.
You know when your forehead is on the floor. That’s the closest you will ever be to Allah
Cry to him, beg to him. Ask Allah for direction and you will see happiness through prayer.
We ask Allah to make us of those who establish their prayer and never leave it no matter what.
